How to Create Your Own Spells
By ACCER
From the image in movies of waving a magic wand to people standing in a circle of fire
reading from a dusty grimoire, people have all sorts of ideas about how to cast a spell.
Some of these ideas are fantasy and some are reality.
You can actually cast a spell by waving a magic wand OR by standing in the circle of fire.
There are many methods and many paths. What is important is the intent behind the waving
of the wand or the standing in the circle. These things help us to visualize our objective. The
real power comes from inside of us anyway.
Magic is comprised of three things: Intent, direction and power. We have the intent, we give it direction and using our
power, release it into the universe to obtain our objective. Knowing how to use those three things makes it possible to
create a spell for any purpose and to learn to be able to do so immediately.
Individuals have an element of power that works best for them. These elements are Earth, Air, Fire and Water. While we
can almost always learn to work with any other element, we have one that just feels more natural to us, one that seems to
belong to us in a way that the others do not.
Each individual then needs to learn how to create spells that work with their own element. This can be as easy as
dissecting a spell and figuring out its most potent area and simply substituting your element for the one that the original
creator used. If nothing else, you can simply let your own element take over and control you when you cast the spell.
One thing often overlooked in spell crafting is limits. Every spell should have a limit imposed by the creator. This can be a
limit of time or action. But it should have a point where it stops and returns. This helps to keep mistakes to a minimum. It
also releases our power so that it is free to return to us in a timely fashion.
I'm not going to impose a morality here about what should and should not be allowed. I'm also not going to bring up
fictitious codes or rules. The only rule that is valid to each individual is the one that they personally have accepted to
follow. That is the one you have to obey. No one who wishes to have and gain power can do so if they aren't living
according to the beliefs that they claim. Just remember that all energy sent out will eventually return to the sender stronger
than when it left. It picks up energy from the completion of the spell and then returns home. Be certain that you are
prepared for what returns.
To create a spell you must first identify an intent or need. What is it that you want or need? What specifically do you want
this spell to do? This needs to be as specific as possible. Saying "I want money" isn't going to do it. Be specific about how
much you want. If you are looking for a job, be specific in what job you want. Once you have clearly identified this, you
have your intent.
The next step is to determine direction. Where do you want the spell to go? Do you specifically want a job at XYZ
Corporation? Then direct it there. The more specific you are, the faster it will work. So lets say you just put in an
application at XYZ and they aren't hiring. You can direct the spell to the hiring manager. Do a tiny bit of research and find
out who this person is and their sun sign. The more minute the direction, the quicker the results.
Now we have intent and direction. Lets give it a limit. Say a month. Now we are ready to create the spell. What is your
element? Lets say that your element is fire. Lets also suppose that the hiring manager, John Smith is an Aquarius. That's
an air sign. Employment is generally considered to be the domain of the earth element. A good spell would incorporate
elements of both air and earth (earth for the job and air for the manager) and be ignited with fire. A spell could be as easy
as writing the intent on a piece of parchment and burning it or as complicated as an entire ritual. It is important for you to
use whatever feels best to you at this stage, whatever makes you feel the most powerful. If you want, create an elaborate
ritual with a bonfire in the center, maybe skyclad or in ceremonial robes. That's fine. You can write out a poem that
conveys your objective and recite it. Your own instinct of how elaborate to be is best in any situation.
No matter what you decide to do, at the last moment of the spell, release your power. Let it literally explode away from you
and into the universe to do your will.
If you are a Theist, it's also possible to summon your God or Goddess to do these things for you. Afterwards, it's nice to
thank them for their help. Either way, when you are finished with the spell, forget about it. You have to let it go completely.
If you don't, part of the spell will stay with you instead of working to meet the objective. It won't destroy the spell of course,
but is could delay the results. It might be a good idea to have something planned to take your mind off of it. It's ok, to think
about it now and then, just don't dwell on it.
The more you create your own spells, the better at it you will become. With practice you will be able to create quick mini
spells for any occasion. The more you create, the more powerful you and your spells will become.
In closing, let me remind you of one thing: Be careful in what you ask for because you will get it. Make absolutely sure that
you want it.
